Unemployment Rates Decline

Unemployment rates for the City and County of Fond du Lac continued to improve in last month. According to state and federal labor statistics the City’s jobless rate was 6 percent and the County’s rate fell to 5.2 percent. Both saw an improvement of 3/10ths of a percent. The levels were a full percentage better than in May of 2013.  More telling is that 100 more people were working last month and 1,000 more than a year ago. All but three of the state’s 72 counties saw decreases in their unemployment levels and 23 of the state’s 32 largest cities had decreases or their unemployment rates remained the same.
