Update on the 70 dogs taken from Fond du Lac County home

According to reports from the Eastshore Humane Association in Chilton, where 70 dogs were taken to after being found in “deplorable” conditions earlier this month in Pipe, one of the dogs has died, and two have been adopted out.

On November 6, 2024, a delivery driver notified a local volunteer fire fighter that packages were building up on the porch of a residence on Highway 151 in the village of Pipe and also that there was a bad odor coming from the house. The firefighter notified the sheriff’s office who sent a couple officers. Upon arrival, Deputies attempted contact at the residence and discovered 70 dogs in various stages of age and health.

As of November 27, no charges have been filed in the case so the Fond du Lac County District Attorney’s office issued this statement.

Media and public inquires have been made to the Fond du Lac County District Attorney’s Office regarding an investigation being conducted by the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office from November of 2024, related to a large number of dogs seized from a residence in the Town of Calumet, located in Fond du Lac County, Wisconsin.

The Fond du Lac County District Attorney’s Office is in communication with the Sheriff’s Office. The matter remains under investigation by the Sheriff’s Office with no charges yet referred to the District Attorney’s Office.
