Update: Three People Dead after Fire in FDL Group Home

Three people are now confirmed dead after an early
morning house fire in the City of Fond du Lac. Fond du Lac Fire and Rescue was
called to the scene in the 600 block of South Military Road just after 6 am. One
person was confirmed dead early on in the investigation while another two were
found as fire crews continued to work at the scene. Fond du Lac Fire Chief
Peter O’Leary says the home is a group home, where adults with disabilities live.
He says a passerby was first to call in the fire to 9-1-1 dispatchers.  Two people were able to escape the fire
without harm. Investigators continue to look into the fire, but O’Leary says
the fire appears to have started on the front porch and spread to the rest of
the home. More information will be released as it becomes available.
