UW Oshkosh to close another area campus

The University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh is closing yet another campus because of what it says is a major decline in enrollment.

Yesterday they announced that the UW-Oshkosh Fox Cities campus in Menasha, would be discontinuing teaching and learning effective June 30, of next year.
UWO Fox Cities’ total enrollment has declined nearly 67% over the past decade. The five-year average decline is nearly 20%. With the number of high school graduates in Wisconsin expected to fall by 13% over the next decade, and given the regional trends, UWO’s analysis projects the potential for fewer than 100 UWO Fox Cities students by 2032.

Current and new Fox Cities students who prefer to remain at the Fox Cities campus through the spring 2025 semester, can then continue at UWO’s Oshkosh campus at the UWO Fox Cities campus tuition rate through 60 credits, attainment of their Associate of Arts and Sciences degree, or January 1, 2027, whichever comes first. If they elect to switch campuses now, the Oshkosh campus tuition rate will apply.

U.W.-Oshkosh ended in-person classes at the Fond du Lac campus last month. Teachers were transferred to the Oshkosh campus, as did about 70% of the student body.
