Van towing camper rolls over, blocking I-41 northbound in Fond du Lac County

Travelers on 41 northbound in Fond du Lac County were detoured for nearly an hour and a half Thursday afternoon, August 6, 2026, while crews tended to a rollover crash near the City of Fond du Lac.

Shortly after 5 p.m., calls started coming in reporting the crash. Upon arrival, deputies found the highway completely blocked with a camper and van that had rolled over and were blocking both northbound lanes.

Shortly before the crash, the van was seen northbound with the camper swaying significantly back and forth behind the van.

It was reported on social media that at least one person was injured and bystanders were able to assist the person away from the crash through the windshield.

The injured person was transported to an area hospital and Whealon towing was called to the scene to clean up and remove debris and the two vehicles.

The highway was reopened at 6:20 p.m.
