Visible House Address Important In Fire And EMS Response

Division Chief Troy Haase says you can help out the fire department by making sure your house address is visible from the road. He says it is hard to make those addresses out especially at night. He says that number is very, very important in helping them to respond to a fire or medical emergency. He says they do have GPS technology available, but sometimes it only puts them close to where they have to go. He says it would be especially helpful if that number is located under a light. Haase says looking for house numbers slows down their response time, which is especially important if there is a fire or someone’s life is at stake.
