Voter turnout low for Spring Primary in Fond du Lac County

Yesterday was the Spring primary election and voter turnout was low, possibly as a result of bitter cold temperatures, or the lack of a big ticket item. In Fond du Lac County, just under 10% of registered voters turned out to the polls.
Through most of Fond du Lac County, there was only one race to vote for on the ballot and that was for State Superintendent of Public Instruction.
While overall in the state, incumbent Jill Underly won the most votes… in Fond du Lac County she came in second with almost half the votes that Brittany Kinser received. Kinser received 3001 votes while Underly got 1653, followed not far behind by Jeff Wright with 1366 votes. Both Underly and Kinser will advance to be included in the April 1st Spring Election.
Also on the ballot for the northeast portion of the county was Town of Calumet Town Supervisor. Voters were instructed to pick two candidates out of six on the ballot. The two getting the most votes were Tom Bartell and Ben Burlingham. Both will also advance to the Spring Election April 1st.
