Voting Continues for the “Coolest Thing Made in Wisconsin”
You have until Sunday to cast your vote for what you think is
the “Coolest Thing Made in Wisconsin”. Wisconsin Manufacturers and Commerce has
put on the contest every year since 2016 – with Wisconsin residents casting
over 400-thousand votes since its inception. In 2018, around 150 products were
nominated and over 185-thousand votes were cast to decide a winner. That winner
was the Sea Salt Carmel Pecan Kringle from Uncle Mike’s Bake Shoppe in De Pere.
Products nominated this year include a few from around the
area – including Speed Queen Washers and Dryers from Alliance Laundry Systems
in Ripon, Mercury Racing’s 450R Outboard Motor, Mayville Engineering Company’s
400 Defender Clay Target Machine and the John Deere X739 Signature Series Lawn
Tractor made at John Deere’s Horicon Works.
The popular vote ends Sunday, with a field of 16 being
announced on Monday. Two more rounds of voting cut the field down to the top
four, with the winner announced October 8th. See a list of products and vote for your favorite here.
