Walleye Weekend preparations underway

Preparations have begun in Lakeside Park for the 45th annual Walleye Weekend which takes place this weekend.

Walleye Weekend centers around a multi-day walleye fishing tournament on Lake Winnebago that brings in anglers from around the country to compete for 10s of thousands of dollars worth of prizes.

In 1978 the Mercury Marine National Walleye Tournament was born in Fond du Lac with the hopes to build a festival around it. Today, Walleye Weekend draws in over 50,000 people to Lakeside Park over the three day event with its extensive family entertainment, national, regional and local music acts, sporting events, food and other attractions. All attractions, entertainment and admission are free.

This year’s music headliners are Boogie and the Yo-Yoz, The Glam Band, Dexter Road, The Ultimate Eric Church Experience, Boy Band Review and the Love Monkeys.
You can see a full schedule of events on the festival’s website at walleyeweekend.com.
