Wanted 18-Year-Old Jumps From Second Story Balcony To Avoid Capture By FDL PD

An 18-year-old Fond du Lac resident tried to avoid capture by the Fond du Lac Police Department Saturday by leaping off a second story balcony.

Police learned Devin Schmitz, who was wanted for Fleeing/Eluding, 2nd Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety, and Operating a Vehicle Without Consent, was staying at a residence in Fond du Lac and set up a plan to take him into custody.

Schmitz noticed officers closing in on his location and jumped from the second story, but was immediately taken into custody.

Schmitz was booked into the Fond du Lac County Jail for his charges.
