Waukesha Parade Memorial Coming Down
Waukesha’s temporary memorial to those fatally struck in last month’s Christmas parade attack is coming down.
The memorial at Waukesha Veterans Park included six crosses, flowers, candles, teddy bears, and baseballs. The baseballs were to honor eight-year-old Jackson Sparks who was killed as he marched with his youth baseball team in the parade. The items will be collected by city staff members and preserved by the Waukesha Historical Society. The city’s Common Council will consider a request to create a permanent memorial when it meets January 18th.
