Waupun EMS to host multi-agency meet and greet
Next week is National EMS week and the Waupun Fire & Rescue Department will be hosting a multi-agency meet and greet at the Waupun fire station.
The event will not only give the public a chance to meet their local EMS crews, but to also give anyone that may be interested in a career as an EMS member, the opportunity to talk with representatives in the field and also see first hand, the equipment used on EMS calls.
The event will feature representatives from Waupun, Lifestar, and Mayville EMS, Mayville EMS Training Center, Ripon Guardian Ambulance, and Moraine Park Technical College.
Attendees will have the opportunity to explore career pathways in emergency medicine, speak with experienced providers, and learn about the educational programs available in the region.
The meet and greet takes place Wednesday, May 20th, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Waupun Fire Station, at 16 East Main Street in Waupun.
The meet and greet will also feature a “touch-a-truck” element, with multiple ambulances and specialized life-saving equipment on display for public walkthroughs.
Waupun EMS Captain Lance Thomas says the event is for aspiring first responders, students, those considering a career change, or already involved in healthcare, or community members curious about how EMS crews serve the area.
Thomas adds “This is a great chance to see the technology we use today and learn where the future of EMS is headed.
