Waupun Teacher Proud Of Presidential Scholar

Waupun High School Agriculture Teacher Tari Costello is proud of the District’s first Presidential Scholar. High School senior Dylon Porkorny was named among the 161 students across the nation for that honor, and one of only three in Wisconsin. She says you can always expect the best out of him no matter what the task is before him. She says he’s a fantastic kid and she wishes the District had a lot more kids like him. As part of their application materials each scholar named a most influential teacher. Pokorny chose Costello. She says that came as a surprise to her. She says it is extremely humbling and she feels honored that he chose her for that. Pokorny is also a U.S. Presidential Scholar in Career and Technical Education, one of just 20 singled out nationwide for that honor.
