WCI Inmate Charged With Attacking Guard

A 33-year-old inmate at Waupun Correctional has been charged with battery for attacking a corrections officer. Cedric Barefield made his initial appearance in Dodge County Court this week on the felony charge, which could add 10 years to the sentence he’s serving for armed robbery. Barfield allegedly punched the officer repeatedly in the head during an incident in a prison cafeteria in March.
