City of Fond du Lac – Weekly Construction Update

The City of Fond du Lac is providing a weekly update on construction projects located within the corporate boundary. The Weekly Construction Updates and Construction Map are posted on the City’s Website at www.fdl.wi.gov.

All anticipated construction activities are weather dependent.

Lakeside Park Pedestrian Bridge Replacement – Oven to Fountain Island

Schedule: September 16 through November 15, 2024

Description: Construction includes removal of the existing wood bridge structure, pouring new concrete abutments and setting a new steel truss bridge. Site grading, restoration and asphalt pedestrian path will be replaced.

October 7 to October 11: The second concrete pour for the east and west abutments will be completed early in the week. Backfilling the abutments and grading around the abutments will begin by weeks end. Placing riprap along the shore may occur following grading.

Traffic Impacts: The boat launch off E. Harbor View Dr. will be closed for boats to access Lake Winnebago from Sep. 16th through Nov. 2024

Schedule: August 26th to Early November

Description of work: The work under this contract shall consist of asphalt paving, beam guard replacement, culvert replacement, pavement marking, and all incidental items.

October 7 to October 11: Contractor will continue paving.

Traffic impacts: US 45 is open to traffic. Work will be conducted under lane closures with flagging operations.

Rees Street – Main Street to Marquette Street

Schedule: April 2024 through October

Description: The project includes gas main and service relocations, reconstruction of sanitary sewer and laterals, storm sewer and laterals, water main and laterals, roadway, sidewalk and approaches, street lighting and restoration/landscaping.

October 7 to October 11: Concrete contractor will finish pouring sidewalk and driveway aprons. Excavation contractor will rough grade terraces. Electrical contractor may install lights later in the week.

Traffic Impacts: Rees Street and Marquette Street are closed to through traffic. Residents, business owners, and customers may access properties past “ROAD CLOSED TO THRU TRAFFIC” signs. It is illegal to drive past a “ROAD CLOSED” sign or to move any construction barricades.

W. 9th Street – Bridge to Linden Street

Schedule: June 2024 through October

Description: The project includes gas main and service relocations, reconstruction of sanitary sewer and laterals, storm sewer and laterals, water main and laterals, roadway, sidewalk and approaches, street lighting and restoration/landscaping.

October 7 to October 11: Concrete contractor will begin working on the south approach at bridge later in the week.

Traffic Impacts: W. 9th Street is closed to through traffic. Residents, business owners, and customers may access properties past “ROAD CLOSED TO THRU TRAFFIC” signs. It is illegal to drive past a “ROAD CLOSED” sign or to move any construction barricades. Parking is not permitted on the street within the construction zone during working hours.

S Military Road – Superior Street to Hickory Street

Schedule: July 2024 through November

Description: The project includes gas main and service relocations, reconstruction of sanitary sewer and laterals, storm sewer and laterals, water main and laterals, roadway, sidewalk and approaches, street lighting and restoration/landscaping.

October 7 to October 11: Road excavation will continue on the west side of the RR. Concrete contractor will continue with pavement on the east side of the tracks. Electrical contractor will begin conduit and base installation at Hickory St intersection.

Traffic Impacts: S Military Road is closed to through traffic. Residents, business owners, and customers may access properties past “ROAD CLOSED TO THRU TRAFFIC” signs. It is illegal to drive past a “ROAD CLOSED” sign or to move any construction barricades. Parking is not permitted on the street within the construction zone during working hours. There will be a signed detour route in place.

Bragg Street – Bell Street to Warner Street

Schedule: July 2024 through November

Description: The project includes gas main and service relocations, reconstruction of sanitary sewer and laterals, storm sewer and laterals, water main and laterals, roadway, sidewalk and approaches, street lighting and restoration/landscaping.

October 7 to October 11: Electrical contractor may install lights later in the week.

It is illegal to drive past a “ROAD CLOSED” sign or to move any construction barricades. Parking is not permitted on the street within the construction zone during working hours.

Henning Street – Military Rd to Dead End

Schedule: July 2024 through November

Description: The project includes gas main and service relocations, reconstruction of sanitary sewer and laterals, storm sewer and laterals, water main and laterals, roadway, sidewalk and approaches, street lighting and restoration/landscaping.

October 7 to October 11: Concrete contractor will continue with sidewalks and driveway aprons. Electrical contractor may install lights later in the week.

Traffic Impacts: Henning Street is closed to through traffic. Residents, business owners, and customers may access properties past “ROAD CLOSED TO THRU TRAFFIC” signs. It is illegal to drive past a “ROAD CLOSED” sign or to move any construction barricades. Parking is not permitted on the street within the construction zone during working hours.

Franklin Street – N. Hickory Street to Henry Street

Schedule: August 2024 through November

Description: The project includes water main and lateral reconnections, roadway, and restoration/landscaping.

October 7 to October 11: No work anticipated.

Traffic Impacts: Franklin Street is closed to through traffic. Residents, business owners, and customers may access properties past “ROAD CLOSED TO THRU TRAFFIC” signs. It is illegal to drive past a “ROAD CLOSED” sign or to move any construction barricades. Parking is not permitted on the street within the construction zone during working hours.
