Wisconsin Badgers Preview

By: Nick Van Nocker – KFIZ Sports
The Wisconsin Badgers open the 2025 football season with a fresh look and one of the most challenging schedules in the nation. After a rocky start to the Luke Fickell era in Madison, the program has made key changes—most notably on offense, where a new coordinator aims to revitalize the unit. On defense, the Badgers have added size and strength up front, hoping to dominate the trenches.
Leading the charge is new starting quarterback Billy Edwards Jr., a transfer from the University of Maryland. He’ll be joined in the backfield by a talented group of young running backs, including highly touted sophomores Dilin Jones and Darrion Dupree.
Wisconsin’s schedule is a gauntlet. The Badgers face powerhouse Alabama in Week 3, followed by tough Big Ten road games at Michigan and Oregon, and a marquee home matchup against Ohio State. It’s a slate that will test the team’s depth, resilience, and readiness from the very start.
The season kicks off tonight at Camp Randall Stadium as the Badgers host Miami (OH). Fans can catch all the action live on KFIZ.
