Wisconsin DNR releases sturgeon spearing guide of regulations

The Wisconsin DNR has released a guide of regulations for the upcoming sturgeon spearing season and is encouraging all who plan to participate in the hunt to freshen up
on the rules associated with spearing.
Sturgeon spearing runs Feb. 10th through the 25th on Lake Winnebago and the upriver lakes of Poygan, Butte des Morts and Winneconne or until pre season decided caps are met.
This year’s caps have been set at 350 juvenile females, 805 adult females and 1242 Males.
Despite poor ice conditions last season, 1405 sturgeon were harvested.
