Wisconsin Farmers Receiving $10 Million in Bailout Program
$10 million dollars in federal money from the farm bailout program. Data from
the US Department of Agriculture shows the average payment for
about $2,145.
There were eleven farms that received more than $50,000 each,
while 237 farms got less than $100, and a few thousand others received
something in between.
A Kewaunee dairy farm was the top recipient in the state,
receiving about $81,000. The program is designed to help farmers who have seen
prices for their goods fall as a result of trade battles between the
countries.
