Wisconsin Lottery Property Tax Relief Exceeds $200 Per Home Owner Second Year In A Row

Wisconsin homeowners received news of a Christmas present this month in the form of property tax relief from the Wisconsin Lottery.
The group announced that better than normal lottery sales have pushed this years savings for property taxes to an average $213 per household. Down slightly from last years $220 savings, but still up from the two previous years of 2019 and 2020.
Overall, the Lottery Credit has about $320 million available for distribution to Wisconsin homeowners for property taxes levied in 2022.
Since 1988, the Wisconsin Lottery has provided over $5.1 billion in property tax relief to eligible Wisconsin homeowners.
The amount of the credit varies throughout the state depending on the tax rate of the school district.
