>>Packers Trade Up, Then Take Utah State QB Jordan Love With 26th Draft Pick
(Undated) — The Green Bay Packers used the 26th pick in the 2020 N-F-L Draft to select Utah State quarterback Jordan Love. The Packers got pick number-26 after a trade with the Miami Dolphins. Green Bay sent draft picks 30 and 136 to the Dolphins. It’s a case of history almost repeating itself. Brett Favre was 35 years old when Green Bay drafted Aaron Rodgers with the 24th overall pick. Rodgers is now 36 years old and Love is said to have franchise quarterback qualities. Love was the fourth quarterback taken in the draft
>>Green Bay-Area QB Has Chance To Be Selected In NFL Draft
(Ashwaubenon, WI) — Playing in the shade of Lambeau Field during high school, James Morgan was hoping to advance this far. The former Ashwaubenon Jaguar star has a pretty good chance to hear his name called during this weekend’s virtual 2020 N-F-L Draft. He had success in college football at Florida International and that has translated into pre-draft meetings with 14 teams, including the Packers. The scouts like Morgan’s arm strength and intangibles. He’s hoping to join Fox River Classic Conference alumni like Alec Ingold of the Raiders and Max Scharping of the Texans in the N-F-L.
>>Coronavirus Hits Bucks Harder Than Most NBA Teams
(Milwaukee, WI) — This season – and the postseason – were going to be when the Milwaukee Bucks convinced Giannis Antetokounmpo the franchise can be a consistent winner. A big winner. Action Network columnist Matt Moore says that’s why the coronavirus interruption in the N-B-A season has hurt the Bucks the most. Antetokounmpo could be a free agent one year from now. It would have greatly bolstered the Bucks’ case for him to stay if they continued to dominate play and grabbed that N-B-A championship. Even if play resumes, there’s no guarantee the team can recapture the magic that led it to a 53-and-12 record. Not winning it all doesn’t mean the Greek Freak leaves, but it would have made it a lot more likely he would make other teams continue to “Fear the Deer.”
>>Wisconsin Earning The Title Of “Linebacker U”
(Madison, WI) — They are scattered all over N-F-L rosters – former Badgers linebackers like T-J Watt. Wisconsin is developing a reputation for producing high-quality linebacking prospects for N-F-L teams. Zach Baun’s name will likely be called tonight (Friday) and Chris Orr will be selected soon, too. The title used to belong to Penn State, but it won’t be long until they start calling Wisconsin “Linebacker U.” Watt is an All-Pro and undrafted free agent T-J Edwards played all 16 games for the Philadelphia Eagles last season. Vince Biegel says it’s about coming to work prepared and performing and the culture in Madison clearly prepares its linebackers to do just that on the field – perform.
