>>Packers Coach LaFleur Has No Concerns About Aaron Rodgers Reaction To Love Pick
(Green Bay, WI) — Aaron Rodgers may have been expecting his team to get at least one new talented receiver for his passes, but instead, he got a competitor for his quarterback job. Packers coach Matt LaFleur says he has no concerns about Rodgers’ reaction to the draft, calling him a “pro” and the “best ever to play the game.” LaFleur and general manager Brian Gutekunst say they both have talked to Rodgers after selecting Utah State’s Jordan Love in the first round. LaFleur says he hopes Rodgers plays until he decides he doesn’t want to play anymore. He says Rodgers will be a great mentor for the rookie Love.
>>4 Wisconsin Badgers Taken In 2020 NFL Draft
(Madison, WI) — Second-round pick Jonathan Taylor was the first Wisconsin Badger taken in last weekend’s 2020 NFL Draft. Nobody was taken in the first round. Although he was considered a potential first-round pick, linebacker Zack Baun fell all the way to the third round, where he was taken by the New Orleans Saints. The Dallas Cowboys drafted center Tyler Biadasz in the hopes he can replace the retiring All-Pro, Travis Frederick, who played his college ball in Wisconsin. Wide receiver Quintez Cephus was then taken by the Detroit Lions. Two Badgers have been signed as undrafted free agents, so far – linebacker Chris Orr and offensive lineman Jason Erdmann.
>>NBA Players Ready To Get Back To Work
(New York, NY) — Resumption of the interrupted N-B-A season is nowhere close to happening, but players will be able to get back to work later this week. The league plans to reopen team facilities in areas where the move doesn’t violate stay-at-home orders. It also plans to find alternative arrangements in states with full quarantine orders in place. Several players have said they haven’t even picked up a basketball since the games were stopped. There is still no suggested date for the N-B-A season to be re-started.
