Wisconsin’s Best Burger Contest returns for second year

The Wisconsin Beef Council has announced it’s hosting the 2nd Annual Wisconsin’s Best Burger Contest with the nomination period open as of Friday, February 21, 2025, and running through March 21. Voting will close at midnight on Monday, March 21.
The group says last year’s contest sparked a burger frenzy across the state, with the Elite Eight finalists enjoying seeing a surge in burger sales. The winner, Pickles Bar & Grill, near Hazelhurst, saw a 530% increase in burger sales the first two months after they were announced the winner.
Those wishing to participate this year are asked to vote only once for their favorite beef burger location in Wisconsin.
In early April, The Wisconsin Beef Council will reveal the Elite Eight restaurants with the most nominations. A panel of judges will then head to each of the top eight restaurants to taste and evaluate
the contenders. Burgers will be judged on taste, appearance, proper doneness and overall enjoyment, with bonus points for the eating environment atmosphere, and experience. The winner will be announced on May 1 to kick off National Beef Month.
