Woman accused of killing cellmate in Taycheedah deemed competent to stand trial

The woman accused of killing a fellow inmate at Taycheedah Correctional Institution in July of 2023 has been found competent to go to trial over her cellmate’s death.

Taylor Sanchez says she heard voices telling her to kill her cellmate, 68-year-old Cindy Schulz-Juedes, July 19th of 2023.

In a psychiatrist’s report, it showed no evidence to support a not guilty by reason of mental disease or defect plea from the 29-year-old.

In a recorded conversation with her mother, Taylor Sanchez said she stopped taking her meds and started hearing voices again. She went on to say she thought the woman was using her toothbrush to scrub the toilet and says, she thought Juedes was using her stuff to wipe the floor with.

An autopsy of Juedes, showed she had skull fractures too numerous to count as well as 34 rib fractures. Sanchez now faces a first degree murder charge for the killing.

Juedes was serving a sentence for the 2006 death of her husband in Marathon County.

Sanchez has multiple convictions of battery to prisoners on her record. She’s scheduled to be back in court later this month.
