Woman arrested after making bomb threat to Oshkosh house of worship

Oshkosh police say a 65-year-old woman has been arrested for making a bomb threat against a local church Monday evening.

According to police, they were notified around 6:20 p.m. by church officials after they received a call saying “I’m going to blow up your church in 3 hours.”

Police didn’t identify the location other than saying it was in the 1100-block of Algoma Blvd., where there is a synagogue and a Methodist church.

Due to the nature of the call, police evacuated neighboring homes while the building was searched. After the search they determined the threat wasn’t credible.

It was later learned that Pauline Beyer of Clintonville contacted a detective and confessed to making the bomb threat. Authorities went to Beyer’s residence and took her into custody. The criminal complaint says that Beyer told authorities that she just looked up a temple online and the one she made the threat to was the first one that came up. She told authorities that she decided to call in a bomb threat to get the FBI to come to her residence and help her.

She’s been charged with one felony count of bomb scare.
