Woman, Child Die After Car Drives Into Northridge Lake

Milwaukee police are trying to figure out why a woman drove her car into Northridge Lake on Milwaukee’s northwest side Thursday, December 8, 2022.

Around 12:30 PM witnesses spotted the car submerged in the lake and called officials.

Investigation showed that the car broke through a snow fence off Brown Deer Road and then went into the lake.

Milwaukee Fire Department divers responded to the scene and removed a 25-year-old woman and a 7-year-old child that both died.

Detectives spent much of Thursday afternoon examining the car, re-tracing its tracks and searching for answers as to what caused the car to be in the water before towing the car out of the lake by nightfall.
