Woman faces charges after allegedly killing dog of family she was babysitting for

An 18-year-old Washington County woman is being charged with mistreatment of animals with the use of a dangerous weapon after allegedly killing a dog while babysitting in a Waukesha County home.

The Sussex family where the woman was babysitting said their young daughter found their dog Batman, dead under a pile of bloody blankets on Friday. The dog also had a plastic bag over its head.

During an interview with law enforcement officials, the woman didn’t admit to killing the dog, but said “when she gets mad and lashes out, everything goes blank and she doesn’t remember.”

After further discussion, she told investigators “It’s kind of sounding like I did it.”

When asked if she was upset about something, she said “there was a lot of drama going on.”

If convicted, she faces up to four years in prison.
