Woman hospitalized for smoke inhalation during Eden area house fire

The Eden Fire Department made a quick stop to a house fire Tuesday, February 20, 2024 at N3499 Eagle Road, about three miles southeast of the village of Eden. The fire is believed to have started by some clothing piled near an electrical wire.

Initially when the homeowners called the fire in, everyone was out of the house, but a woman had reportedly gone back into the house. She was still
in the house when the first officer got on scene but came out soon after.

A 75-year-old woman was transported to the hospital for smoke inhalation, but it’s unknown if it was the woman who had re-entered the house.
