Woman Rescued From Burning Fond du Lac Home

The Fond du Lac Fire/Rescue Department responded to a house fire early Tuesday morning, February 7, 2023.

At 1:30 AM, a neighbor in the Ashbury Drive area notified the Fond du Lac County Communications Center that they could see flames coming from a house at the corner of Ashbury Court and Ashbury Drive.

Upon arrival, fire crews found heavy fire coming from the roof of the single story, ranch style house.

Firefighters searched the structure and rescued the lone occupant from her bedroom.

Crews battled the blaze for about an hour before it was contained. High winds fueled the flames making it a little more difficult bringing the fire under control.

The house suffered extensive damage and is likely a total loss according to Fire Chief Erick Gerritson.

The resident of the house was brought to nearby family to stay.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.  No injuries were reported and Fond du Lac Police assisted with scene management and traffic control. Alliant Energy was called to the scene to secure the electric utility.
