Woman who caused mayhem after City of Fond du Lac pursuit sentenced to prison
The woman who crashed her vehicle in downtown Fond du Lac while being pursued by law enforcement, injuring several people, and causing damage to several vehicles, including two that started on fire, was sentenced yesterday to seven years of initial prison confinement and seven years of extended supervision, followed by four years of probation.
Kaitlynn Ray of Brown County was convicted of nine counts of First Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety and OWI 2nd – Causing Injury. The charges come from a May 30, 2025 incident when a Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Deputy started to pursue Ray after seeing her drive northbound on south Main Street at a high rate of speed.
After displaying his lights and siren, Ray accelerated to 80 mph as she entered the busy downtown area.
Fond du Lac County District Attorney Eric Toney says “We hope this prison term sends a clear message that felony eluding will never be tolerated in Fond du Lac County.”
