Woodman’s Grocery inches closer to coming to Oshkosh location

Fans of the grocery store chain Woodman’s will be happy to know plans to bring the huge, employee owned store closer to the area are inching forward.

The Oshkosh City Planning Commission is working out a proposal that could bring Woodman’s to the site of the Oshkosh outlet mall near 41, between Highways 26 and 44.

The proposal would divide the 1.7 million square foot site into five lots, with the largest going to the grocery store. The plan also includes the signature Woodman’s gas station and car wash which are usually found next to the stores.

The commission says the plans would allow for the existing mini-golf course on the site to remain.

As of now the closest Woodman’s to Fond du Lac are in Appleton, Sun Prairie and Menomonee Falls.

Once complete, the commission’s plans would go to the Oshkosh Common Council for approval.
