Work continues on the expansion of I-41 in Winnebago and Outagamie counties with lane and ramp closures
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) Northeast Region reminds motorists of interstate, highway, and ramp closures as part of the I-41 Expansion Project in Outagamie County and the I-41 Rehabilitation Project in Winnebago and Outagamie Counties.

TRAFFIC IMPACTS BY THE PROJECT
I-41 Expansion (Majors Project – Outagamie/Brown)
- Drivers can expect reduced lanes on northbound (NB) and southbound (SB) I-41 between north of WIS 55 and south of Rose Hill Road overpass, nightly, Monday, May 6 to Saturday, May 11, from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.
- Rose Hill Road between Fairlane Drive and E. Evergreen Drive will be closed beginning on May 6, 2024, through mid-September 2024
- Traffic will be detoured using County OO, WIS 55 and Edgewood Drive
- Northbound I-41 between southbound WIS 441 (exit 145) and WIS 55 (exit 148) will be CLOSED overnight Friday, May 10 and Saturday, May 11 from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m.
- Detour: From northbound I-41, use the off-ramp to south WIS 441, take the off-ramp to County OO east, turn left on County OO east, turn left on north WIS 55, use the on-ramp to northbound I-41
- The following ramps will also be closed during the full closure:
- Northbound WIS 441 to northbound I-41 closed from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m.
- County N on-ramp from northbound I-41 closed from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m.
- County N off-ramp to northbound I-41 closed from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m.
- WIS 55 off-ramp to northbound I-41 closed from 11 p.m. to 6 am.
I-41 Rehabilitation Project (Winnebago/Outagamie)
Long-term ramp closure
- Northbound (NB) I-41 on-ramp from County II/Winchester Road will be CLOSED beginning at 6 a.m., Monday, May 6, 2024 to mid-September 2024
- Detour: County II west to County CB, follow County CB north to US 10, and take US 10 east to northbound I-41
- Green Bay Road under I-41 will be closed from just north of Ehlers Road to American Drive during this same timeframe.
- In addition, northbound I-41 will be reduced full-time from three lanes to two lanes in the vicinity of Green Bay Road.

- SB I-41 on-ramp from WIS 114 (exit 131) CLOSED 6 p.m. to 6 a.m.
- NB I-41 off-ramp to WIS 114 (exit 131) CLOSED 6 p.m. to 7 a.m.
- NB I-41 on-ramp from WIS 114 (exit 131) CLOSED 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.
Tuesday, May 7
- SB I-41 off-ramp to College Avenue (exit 137) CLOSED 6 p.m. to 7 a.m.
- SB I-41 on-ramp from College Avenue (exit 137) CLOSED 10 p.m. to 7 a.m.
- NB I-41 off-ramp to County BB (exit 136) CLOSED 5 p.m. to 6 a.m.
- NB I-41 on-ramp from County BB (exit 136) CLOSED 6 p.m. to 6 a.m.
Wednesday, May 8
- SB I-41 off-ramp to College Avenue (exit 137) CLOSED 6 p.m. to 7 a.m.
- SB I-41 on-ramp from College Avenue (exit 137) CLOSED 10 p.m. to 7 a.m.
Thursday, May 9
- SB I-41 off-ramp to College Avenue (exit 137) CLOSED 6 p.m. to 7 a.m.
- SB I-41 on-ramp from College Avenue (exit 137) CLOSED 10 p.m. to 7 a.m.
