“Work van” fire closes Northbound I-41 Friday morning

The Edorado Fire Department was called out just before 6:00 a.m. Friday morning, November 21, 2025 for a report of a “work van” on fire in the northbound lanes of I-41.

First officers on the scene advised the van was fully engulfed in flames and proceeded to close the northbound lanes down at the County Highway OO, North Fond du Lac exit.

The Wisconsin D.O.T. camera at OO confirmed that the van was fully engulfed. It appeared the fire may have started in the engine compartment.

At 6:23 a.m. a water truck was called from Van Dyne Fire Department to assist Eldorado.

The highway was opened back up at 7:15 a.m.
