17-year-old burned alive in Milwaukee after crash which resulted from police pursuit

A tragic end to a police pursuit occurred Wednesday night, August 6, 2025, in Milwaukee when the vehicle being chased crashed into a tree and burst into flames, killing the teen driver.

Milwaukee police started chasing the vehicle due to the driver being reckless and also the car was attached to prior felony in the city.

The chase lasted a little more than a mile, and near the intersection of 19th and Hampton is where the 17-year-old driver lost control.

Video of the scene shot by a passerby shows disturbing footage of the teen engulfed in flames, flailing around on the ground as police officers spray fire extinguishers on the flames, trying to save the boy, but the fire was too much for the extinguishers.

Two of the officers were injured by fire while attempting to save the boy.

The boys family sent a message to the City of Milwaukee to be distributed to the public saying you should just pull over if being pursued by the police as nothing is worth losing your life over.
