38-year-old man charged with Attempted First Degree Intentional Homicide for attack on rural Watertown woman

At 5:13 PM on Friday, June 21, 2024, the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a 36-year-old female, of rural Watertown, who was seriously injured with multiple serious laceration wounds at an address on County Q in the town of Shields.

During the morning hours of Saturday June 22, 2024, investigators from the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office were able to continue the investigation into what occurred during this incident. The investigation led to the arrest of Joshua Daniel, age 38 of rural Watertown. The subject was booked into the jail on a hold placed by the Department of Corrections Division of Community Corrections, and he was booked on charges of Attempted First Degree Intentional Homicide and Substantial/Aggravated Battery.

The subject had his initial appearance in Dodge County Circuit Court after being charged by the Dodge County District Attorney’s Office and is currently being held in the Dodge County Jail on a $500,000 cash bond. Of course, all persons are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

The victim remains in stable condition and is recovering from her injuries. This case is a tremendous reminder of how dangerous domestic violence can be and why the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office takes domestic violence incidents very seriously.
