$5000 raised to fight hunger with Empty Bowls event
Envision Greater Fond du Lac announced that their Empty Bowls event, held December 3rd of 2025, raised more than $5,000 to help fight hunger in the community.
Empty Bowls, established in 1999, is a community-driven effort to fight hunger. The three-fold purpose of the event is to promote an awareness of hunger in our community and world; create an awareness of art education and its impact on civil and social responsibility; and provide an opportunity for the community to come together to raise money for local food pantries and shelters with proceeds from this event benefit area food pantries.
Attendees at the event paid $18 and were able to sample soups from six area restaurants and catering companies. The event was held at Avenue 795, but soups could also be picked up for those that wanted to opt for soup to go.
Six area food pantries each received a check for more than $800 with the money raised. Those pantries assisted were : Broken Bread, Fondy Food Pantry, Loaves & Fishes, Salvation Army, Holyland Food Pantry, and St. Vincent DePaul.
