Milwaukee Man Leads Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Deputies On High Speed Chase

A Milwaukee man is behind bars this morning after leading Fond du Lac County authorities on a high speed chase overnight.

Around 12:40 AM, a Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Deputy attempted to stop a vehicle that was northbound on 41 near County Highway B for a speeding violation.

The vehicle accelerated in an attempt to elude the deputy, reaching speeds over 100 mph.

When the officer ran the plates, it was found that they did not come back to the vehicle they were on.

The driver exited 41 onto 151 southbound and then again to Hickory Street, then got back north onto 151 and then back onto 41, this time going south.

The driver exited at County Highway B where a sheriff’s deputy initiated a PIT maneuver which is a technique where the officer uses the front of their squad to push
the rear quarter panel of the fleeing car, causing it to lose control.

The vehicle spun out on the Highway B bridge over 41. The man refused to cooperate with officers to exit the vehicle so they assisted in removing him through a window and he was taken into custody.

The 26-year-old driver was the only person in the vehicle.

He was found to be on probation for hit and run causing injury and first degree reckless endangering safety through the use of a dangerous weapon.

He had an active warrant through Wisconsin Community Corrections.

He is being charged with felony fleeing/eluding and criminal resisting and is also receiving citations for fail to stop at a stop sign, speeding,
operating with a suspended driver license, improper plates, and possession of marijuana.
