Eden man killed in overnight crash

An overnight crash, Sunday, March 24, 2024, involving two vehicles in Fond du Lac County has claimed the life of a driver of one of the vehicles.

At 10:14 PM, the Eden Fire Department, City of Fond du Lac Fire Rescue ambulance, The Wisconsin State Patrol and the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a serious crash on Highway B, just east of Highway K.

Arriving units on the scene found a single occupant in one vehicle who appeared to be unconscious and trapped, and three people with minor injuries in the second vehicle. The 61 year-old Eden man who was trapped was extricated from the vehicle, and despite life-saving measures, died at the scene.

Initial Investigation showed the man was westbound on County B and lost control of his vehicle on a portion of roadway that was snow covered. His vehicle entered the eastbound lane of traffic where it was struck by the second vehicle. According to the sheriff’s office, neither alcohol nor speed were contributing factors in the crash.
