George Paul Daly, Sr.

George Paul Daly, Sr., 86, of Brothertown, Wisconsin (formerly Clarksburg, California) passed away on November 18, 2024. He was born August 20, 1938 in Illinois to Harry and Eileen (Hummel) Daly.

George grew up in Rockford, Illinois. He met Linda Hinze and had three beautiful children; Michael, Ann (Witte), and Tim Daly, and 7 grandchildren: Jessi, Ryan, Matthew, Aiden, Keenan, Kyle, and Jack Daly. Life changed and he married Sharon Kistler and had two sons; Kevin and Curtis Daly, and grandchildren: Samantha, Keegan, Kyle, Summer, Sariah, Kyla (Garrett), Kaleb, Keira, Bella and Noah Daly.

He journeyed to California where he met the love of his life, Barbara (Lapcewich) Daly and they have been together 52 years. They have five children; Susan, Mary Kathryn Kimberly, George Paul Jr., Angela, and Natasha who is pregnant with her first baby boy. George also has two great grandchildren, Liam and Raegan.

George was a devout Catholic and attended Mass every Sunday. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and served as Grand Knight in Elk Grove, California.

He served in the Korean War and was honorarily discharged from the United States Army in May 1961.

George has had many jobs over the years including telephone repairman for Illinois Bell, master mechanic for Mercury Marine, Marketing Executive for Pacific Bell, and owner/operator of Das Cliff Haus Restaurant/Marina in California.

George had few hobbies as he always kept it straightforward and simple but passed all his interests on to his children. He was an avid fisherman and custard-style, chocolate malt enthusiast. He loved the outdoors and travelling, and often traveled with his wife, Barbara, and with their children over the years. They have been across the USA and back more than once including trips to New Orleans, Puerto Vallarta, Washington DC, Niagara Falls, the Bahamas, Yellowstone, Mexico, and Canada; with several trips to Disneyland. He was also a Packers fan to the end.

George will be terribly missed by his wife Barbara and children, Mike, Ann, Tim, Kevin, Curtis, Susan, Mary, George Jr., Angela and Natasha. George was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Larry and Dennis, his sister Jane, his dog KoKo, his duck Kronk, and his pet lizard Penny. George would enjoy the humor.

George’s family invites friends and relatives to celebrate a Mass of Christian burial at 1pm on Saturday, November 23, at Holy Cross Church, 308 S. County W, Mt. Calvary, WI. Military honors will follow.

In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Compassus Hospice Care, c/o Jeffrey Pawlinski, 2525 North 124th Street, Suite 103, Brookfield, WI 53005 (compassus.com). George did not make it home from the hospital, but their support and compassion was deeply appreciated.

We are all very grateful for your love, friendship and sympathy at this time of our grief.
