KFIZ has been the Voice of Fond du Lac County since 1922. Today, through KFIZ Cares, we’re proud to give voice to those who give so much of themselves to others. Behind every successful nonprofit, every volunteer project, every scholarship, every food drive, every youth program, and every helping hand are people whose stories deserve to be heard.
KFIZ Cares exists to shine a light on those organizations and individuals, connecting our community with opportunities to give, volunteer, and make a difference. Because when we celebrate generosity, we inspire more of it. Together, we can build a stronger, more compassionate Fond du Lac County—one story, one act of kindness, and one life changed at a time.
The Great Giveback 2027
The Great Giveback is about far more than raising dollars—it’s about raising hope. It’s a day when an entire community comes together to celebrate the people and organizations that quietly change lives every day. Every gift, every volunteer hour, every shared story, and every act of generosity becomes part of something much bigger: a stronger, more compassionate Fond du Lac County.
By uniting nonprofits, donors, businesses, volunteers, and community partners, The Great Giveback shines a light on those who dedicate themselves to serving others and inspires all of us to become part of their story.
Because when a community comes together with one purpose—to help one another—there is no limit to the lives that can be changed.
107.1 the Bull’s “Heart of the Herd”
The heart of every great community isn’t found in buildings or businesses—it’s found in the people who quietly give of themselves to make a difference.
The Heart of the Herd honors the volunteers who are the backbone of Fond du Lac County’s nonprofits, charities, schools, churches, youth organizations, and community groups.
These are the unsung heroes who show up early, stay late, lend a hand, and ask for nothing in return. They don’t volunteer for applause or recognition—they do it because they love this community and believe in making Fond du Lac County the very best place to live, work, and raise a family.
Every act of kindness, every hour volunteered, and every life touched strengthens the herd. Through Heart of the Herd, 107.1 The Bull proudly celebrates these extraordinary neighbors whose compassion, generosity, and selfless service inspire all of us to give back. Because when we recognize the heart of our community, we encourage others to become part of it.
The July 107.1 The Bull Heart is Greg Giles. Greg serves as Executive Director of the Fond du Lac Area Foundation, where he leads the organization’s mission of connecting generous people with meaningful opportunities to strengthen Fond du Lac County. A lifelong advocate for community collaboration and philanthropy, Greg brings more than three decades of nonprofit leadership experience, including executive roles with the YMCA and the University of Wisconsin–Oshkosh Foundation.
Throughout his career, he has been recognized for bringing people together, fostering partnerships, and creating lasting community impact. Under his leadership, the Foundation continues to support hundreds of charitable funds, award grants and scholarships, and inspire a culture of giving that helps ensure Fond du Lac County remains a vibrant place to live, work, and thrive for generations to come.
Community Champions
Behind every successful nonprofit is a network of generous organizations, foundations, businesses, families, and individuals who believe in giving back.
Community Champions are the people and partners who choose toinvest in the causes that strengthen Fond du Lac County—not because they have to, but because they believe in the power of community.
Their generosity provides the resources that keep food pantries stocked, youth programs thriving, families supported, and vital services available to those who need them most. While they often work behind the scenes, their commitment fuels the missions of countless nonprofits and helps build a stronger, more compassionate Fond du Lac County for everyone.

Throughout the campaign, we’ll introduce you to the people, volunteers, and missions that are making a lasting difference across Fond du Lac County.
You’ll discover how each organization serves our community, the lives they impact, the challenges they face, and the opportunities for you to get involved.
The Boys and Girls Club of Fond du Lac County empowers all young people to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens through academic, social and emotional support.
The Boys & Girls Club of Fond du Lac provides creative, educational and fun afterschool and summer programs for youth ages 6-18. Our group-based programs are rooted in three core program areas: Academic Success, Character and Leadership Development and Healthy Lifestyles.
Maintaining a well trained and caring staff team, the Club provides support programs to all types of children and families in the Fond du Lac area. Our goal is to ensure that youth are able to overcome any barriers they may have to living a productive life and reaching their full potential.
We utilize countless community partners like the Fond du Lac School District, Fond du Lac Family YMCA, Fond du Lac Area United Way and Fond du Lac Area Foundation to ensure we have adequate resources in creating a high quality out-of-school time experience for all kids!
Volunteer Hub
Every day, nonprofits across Fond du Lac County need helping hands to bring their missions to life. The Volunteer Hub is the community’s central needs board, connecting caring people with meaningful opportunities to make a difference.
Whether it’s serving a meal, helping at a fundraiser, mentoring a child, painting a shelter, collecting school supplies, or lending a few hours at a community event, this is where local organizations can share their greatest needs—and where neighbors can step up to help.
