Beverly A. Fisher
Beverly A. Fisher was born to eternal life on January 18, 2025, after 96 years of living an amazing example of love. Bev was born to Alfred and Marcella Hansen. She grew up with her brother Jack and her sister Bernie in Green Bay WI. Her family moved to Fond du lac and she graduated from Goodrich High School and started work at Kaufman Electric as a secretary/stenographer for $17.50 per week.
She married Kenneth Fisher in 1949 and they were blessed with 2 lovely daughters, Mary and Patty. After raising their children, Bev decided to return to school to become an LPN and graduated at the age of 46. She worked at Associated Physicians until her retirement.
She was a charter member of Sacred Heart church, attending mass in the gym at Evans School before the chapel and school were built. She was active in the church as a Eucharistic minister and a CCD teacher. When weekly perpetual adoration began, she was one of the original participants and was also a part of Faith Builders Bible study. As a part of a quilting team (the Piece Makers), she forged many lasting friendships and made beautiful quilts to decorate the walls of Sacred Heart Church.
She and Ken were foster parents and hosted an AFS student. Bev also volunteered as a girl scout leader, 4H leader, special friend to the handicapped and hospice volunteer. At the age of 72, she was able to join her 2 daughters and her granddaughter on a Mercyships mission trip to Honduras and at age of 82 she became a reader for under-privileged children.
Those left behind to cherish her memory include two daughters, Mary Bohlman and Patty (Paul) Hayes; five grandchildren, Chris Bohlman, Michael Bohlman, Rebecca Batalden, Benjamin Posthuma and Jason Posthuma. She was also blessed with 9 great grandchildren and many beloved nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by Ken, her husband of 69 years, her brother Jack Hansen and her sister Bernie Bown.
Visitation will be from 2:00 PM to 3:45 PM on Friday, January 24, 2025, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 200 S Peters Ave, in Fond du Lac. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will follow visitation at 4:00 PM.
Bev’s family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to the staff at the Hospice Home of Hope for their incredible care and compassion.
Bev was an ordinary person who lived a remarkable life…and we will miss her.
