ThedaStar Medical Helicopter lands on I-41 at crash scene

A person was seriously injured in a single vehicle rollover crash Friday evening, April 4, 2025, on I-41 just into Winnebago County near County Highway Z.

Just before 7 PM, multiple calls came in for the crash which reported a person was ejected from the vehicle. Once on scene, emergency crews requested that the patient would need to be transported to a level one trauma center by a helicopter. Theda Star medical helicopter was called to the scene, landing right on the northbound lanes of I-41.

While the helicopter was on scene, northbound traffic was halted but was able to again proceed after the helicopter took off, about 15 minutes later. The cause of the crash and the patients condition have not been released at this time.
