Fireworks blamed for several structure fires in area over weekend

Fireworks are believed to be the cause of several structure fires in the area over the weekend.

Also Friday night in Fond du Lac County, Fire crews from the Town of Fond du Lac Fire Department and First Responders, as well as mutual aid from the Lamartine and City of Fond du Lac Fire Department
responded to a fire at a residence located at N6041 Stillwater Drive in the Town of Fond du Lac. The caller reported flames in an attached garage to a house there.
A deputy from the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office was first on scene and confirmed that all occupants and pets had safely evacuated the home. The deputy observed smoke and flames coming from the garage.
Fire fighters quick on the scene worked to contain and extinguish the fire. Officials say due to their swift response, the fire was prevented from spreading beyond the garage and was limited to damage within the garage wall and ceiling.
While some items stored in the garage were lost, the main living quarters of the home sustained only minor smoke exposure.
And in Sheboygan County, multiple fire departments responded Saturday night, to a house fire near Oostburg.
