Tornado reported in Oconto County

National Weather Service officials say a possible tornado may have touched down during storms in Oconto County Wednesday, July 23, 2025.
A line of storms evolved across central into northeast Wisconsin during the afternoon and early evening within a very warm, humid airmass. Swaths of wind damage were reported in addition to pockets of locally heavy rainfall.
Photos on social media show houses damaged, outbuildings destroyed and vehicles flipped over.
According to reports on the Storm Prediction Center’s website, the tornado was reported from the public, four miles east, southeast of Lena at 5:57 p.m. About 25 miles north of Green Bay.
The National Weather Service had issued a tornado warning for Oconto County at 5:41 p.m., reporting radar was indicating strong rotation within the storm.
The National Weather Service will be out today doing damage surveys to rate how strong the tornado was and how far it traveled.
Aside from the tornado, multiple counties in northeast Wisconsin reported damage from straight line winds from Wausau and Stevens Point all the way east to Door County.
While no reports of severe weather were reported in Fond du Lac County, outflow winds from the storms pushed a spectacular looking shelf cloud south through Winnebago and Fond du Lac County.
