Tonight is the public meeting planned for improvement of deadly Fond du Lac County intersection

Tonight, Wednesday, July 30, 2025, is the The Wisconsin Department of Transportation online public involvement meeting to show proposed intersection improvements to State Highway 26 and County TC between Rosendale and Waupun in the community of Ladoga in Fond Du Lac County.

Attendees will access the online meeting via a Teams link on a new Project design website. The purpose of the meeting is to review proposed project scope, schedule, and anticipated traffic impacts, and solicit comments and feedback from the public, on the proposed improvements.

A single-lane roundabout is proposed to improve safety for drivers by decreasing speeds through the intersection and eliminating intersection crashes while maintaining acceptable traffic operations.

The intersection has been plagued with crashes as drivers try to cross the busy Highway 26 from a stop sign on TC. In the last 10 years, 10 injury crashes have been reported with two resulting in fatalities. In addition to those crashes, another 6 have been reported with no injuries.

Construction is expected to begin in spring 2029 with a full highway closure and detour of Highway 26 during construction.

The public is encouraged to attend the meeting online, which starts at 6:30 or log onto the new project website to learn more about the proposed improvements and provide comment.
