Fond du Lac County high speed pursuit nets 18-year-old Illinois man with THC

An 18-year-old Illinois man is in custody this morning after leading Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Deputies on a short high speed pursuit over night.

Just after 1 a.m., a deputy doing radar enforcement on I-41 near Church Road, clocked a driver doing 88 mph in the posted 70 mph zone. When the officer activated their lights and siren to pull the driver over, the driver accelerated to speeds exceeding 130 MPH in an attempt to elude the officer.

The driver exited I-41 onto Highway 151, proceeded through a red light at the intersection, and then re-entered northbound I-41, again accelerating to 130 mph before deciding to pull over near Hickory Street and taken in to custody without further incident.

The driver was booked into the Fond du Lac County Jail for felony fleeing and eluding an officer and possession of THC.
