Auroras dazzle the night sky in Fond du Lac

On Sunday night, September 14, 2025, a brief burst of energy ejected from the sun reached earth causing a display of northern lights, or aurora borealis between the hours of 9 p.m. and 10 p.m. It should be noted that these were taken on a professional camera on a tripod with a long shutter speed, so more light can “paint” onto the photo. The photos were than “popped” in photoshop to make them a bit more vibrant. While the lights could easily be seen with the naked eye, they didn’t look quite like this.

The view is looking north from Lakeside Park.
