Fond du Lac County authorities investigate vehicle vs house crash

Fond du Lac County authorities are looking into what caused a vehicle to be driven into a house early Tuesday morning, September 16, 2025.
Shortly after 1 a.m., deputies, along with Campbellsport ambulance and Kewaskum Fire Department responded to the dead end road of Christy Lane off of Highway 45, between Campbellsport and Kewaskum, for the report of a vehicle that crashed into the house.
Upon arrival, deputies located a sport utility vehicle (SUV) in the front yard of the residence with significant structural damage to the front of the home. Preliminary investigation indicates the SUV was traveling eastbound on Christy Lane, continued down a private driveway, and struck the front of the residence.
The driver and sole occupant of the SUV, a 32-year-old Campbellsport woman, was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. She sustained minor injuries, was treated at the scene, and later transported to SSM Health St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac. Alcohol is believed to be a contributing factor, and the driver was taken into custody on suspicion of Operating While Intoxicated Causing Injury.
At the time of the incident, two individuals were inside the home. One occupant, who was asleep in a bedroom that sustained the direct impact, suffered minor injuries and was transported by ground ambulance to Froedtert West Bend Hospital. The second occupant was not injured.
