Vehicle fire closes Highway 151 near Waupun Thursday morning

The Waupun Fire Department was dispatched to a vehicle fire early Thursday morning, September 18, 2025, on Highway 151 in the southbound lanes.

Just after 6:30 a.m. a caller to the Fond du Lac County Communications Center reported that there may be a fire under the hood of their vehicle. Shortly after a Wisconsin State Patrol Trooper came upon the vehicle and reported a Jeep Cherokee with the engine compartment fully engulfed pulled off the highway just south of Oak Center Road.

151 southbound was closed temporarily while fire crews worked the scene.

Waupun Fire Department was able to extinguish the blaze. No injuries were reported in the fire.
