Man who hid Fond du Lac murder suspect convicted Tuesday

The man accused of driving a suspect away from the scene of a Fond du Lac murder and hiding her from police in 2024 has been found guilty of Felony Murder/Party to a crime Tuesday, September 23, 2025, in Fond du Lac County Circuit Court.

Dawson Miller pleaded no contest to the charge while the other charges he was facing such as Harboring/Aiding a Felon and Manufacture/Deliver of Schedule I or II Narcotics were dismissed but read into the records.

Miller’s case was the result of him driving Annaka Trudell to a drug deal in Fond du Lac on February 13th of 2024. In the drug deal, Trudell stabbed to death Ashley Calo in the parking lot of a Fond du Lac business while Calo’s 3-year-old child was in the vehicle near by. Trudell then ran got into the car with Miller with the drugs and they drove off.

Trudell was convicted in May of this year for the murder and is awaiting sentencing.

Sentencing for Miller is scheduled for December 15th.
