Jean Dorothy Killinger

Jean Dorothy Killinger, 81, passed away on November 9, 2025 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison, WI. She was born November 29, 1943 in Fond du Lac to the late William and Marie (Mayer) Lefeber.

Jean was united in marriage to Gerald “Jerry” Daniel Killinger on August 24, 1963 in Glidden, WI. Jerry passed away on June 11, 2020 after 56 years of marriage.

Jean attended nursing school at night while also taking care of her children. She received a Bachelor’s degree as a Registered Nurse. Jean was employed at St. Francis Home and spent most of her career at St. Agnes Hospital until her retirement.

Jean loved Wisconsin Sporting events and attending her grandchildren’s sporting events, as well. She was a world traveler, including two mission trips. Jean enjoyed gardening, canning, reading, played bingo and cards. She was a great cook and created memories with her children and grandchildren making Christmas cookies, a tradition that continues in the family.

One of Jean’s extraordinary talents was sewing and quilting. She sewed clothes, Halloween costumes, and quilts for her children and grandchildren. Jean was very proud of the 200 dresses she sewed for children in Central America.

Jean is survived by three children, Anthony (Christine Jones) Killinger, Alec Killinger and Josie (Dave) Geishirt; five grandchildren, Mitchel and Nicholas Killinger, Daniel, Grady and Anna Geishirt; one great granddaughter, Lily Killinger, other relatives and friends.

Jean is also survived by her friend, Steve, who became a special companion over the past 3 ½ years and brought her friendship and joy.

Services: Jean’s family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, November 15, 2025 from 12:00 to 1:00 PM at Zacherl Funeral Home, 875 E. Division Street in Fond du Lac. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 PM at the funeral home. A meal will follow.
